Hello, my name is Jordyn (She/They). I am a Board-Certified Music Therapist and am finishing up my residency in Marriage and Family Therapy.

I specialize in working with couples, families, and individuals navigating interpersonal and relational challenges. I have a passion for working with couples who are navigating difficulties around ADHD symptomology, trauma symptomology, sex, parenting/co-parenting, non-monogamy, separation/divorce, and breaches in trust. I have a passion for working with individuals who are experiencing trauma symptomology, anxiety, ADHD, identity, parenting, and more.

I don’t believe that therapy is a “one-size-fits-all” approach. While I do have certain lenses in which I view the world (as we all do), I firmly believe in collaborating with you: You are the expert in your own life. I seek to understand, inviting curiosity and noticing not only for myself, but for you as well. I always aim to see, hear, and value your thoughts, ideas, and experiences.

If any of what I said speaks about your experience, then I’d love to meet with you. I understand that not every therapist is a good fit for everyone, and we can work together to determine if I am the right fit for you, your family, and/or your partner.

Jordyn mainly utilizes systems approaches in her work including Internal Family Systems and Emotion-Focused Therapy. She also incorporates CBT and DBT skills as necessary to include Gottman. As an expressive therapist, she sees the importance of mind-body connection and utilizes various experiential interventions as well.

Jordyn is a Resident and is working towards licensure as a Licensed Marriage Family Therapist. She is supervised by Kathryn (Katie) Walkley, LMFT, License No. #0717001411

Hello, and thank you for taking the time to view my profile. I know that deciding to seek help and finding the right therapist can feel overwhelming, but I am here to support you throughout this entire process. Please also keep in mind that as you read more about me I am happy to answer any questions or concerns you may have and that we can also set up a 15 minute consultation to see if I am a good fit for your needs.

I have been working as a mental health professional for over twenty years and have extensive experience working with children ages 10 and up, adolescents, and adults of any age. I currently work full-time as a substance abuse counselor for Fairfax County Public Schools, and have been working in private practice for the past two years in the evenings.

My goal as a therapist is to work with you each session to address what brought you to therapy and how we can overcome obstacles that are standing in your way of achieving happiness and a better life for yourself. After each session I want you to leave feeling like even a little weight has been lifted off your shoulders and that with each passing session you begin to feel more relaxed, confident and optimistic about the future.

My approach to therapy varies on a case-by-case basis, but with any client my number 1 priority is to build a strong therapeutic alliance. From there we can start to set goals and objectives and work together to achieve them.

I graduated in 2009 from Marymount University with a Bachelor’s degree in Psychology and in 2011 I earned my Master’s degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Virginia Tech.

Brian is supervised by Jane Engelken, LPC, LSATP, License #0701002611 and is in network with Carefirst, which includes most Blue Cross Blue Shield plans.

Welcome! I'm a Resident in Counseling and a current School Counselor with a deep commitment to helping individuals grow, heal, and find balance. I approach therapy from a holistic perspective, meaning I consider the whole person: mind, body, and spirit. My work is grounded in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Person-Centered theories, allowing me to provide a supportive, nonjudgmental space while also helping clients identify and shift unhelpful thought patterns.

Whether you're navigating anxiety, life transitions, relationship challenges, or simply looking for greater self-understanding, I tailor our work to meet your unique needs and goals. My experience in both clinical and school settings has equipped me to work effectively with children, teens, and adults.

I believe therapy is a collaborative process where you are the expert on your own life. My role is to walk alongside you, providing tools, insight, and encouragement as you move toward meaningful change. If you're ready to begin or continue your journey, I'm here to support you every step of the way.

I will be in-network with Carefirst, which includes most Blue Cross Blue Shield plans.

Whether you grew up without the support you needed or came from a loving environment only to face challenges you never imagined, life can sometimes feel confusing and unmanageable. I am here to help you transform feelings of stuckness, loneliness, or crisis into opportunities for growth, connection, and renewal.

I specialize in working with individuals and couples facing anxiety, depression, infertility, grief, adjustment and cultural issues, trauma, and relationship difficulties, as well as those navigating life’s challenges without a formal mental health diagnosis. In my sessions, you’ll find a warm and reflective environment where you can explore your struggles at your own pace. While I provide comfort, I also gently challenge you to grow and find new meaning in your life. For couples, I provide a safe, nurturing space to rediscover intimacy, heal old wounds, and build deeper understanding and harmony. Be ready to see your partner in a different way while also rediscovering yourself.

My formal education includes a BA degree in Clinical Psychology from New Bulgarian University, and a MA in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from The Chicago School of Professional Psychology. I consistently attend professional trainings and base my work primarily on Internal Family Systems (IFS), Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT), Transactional Analysis, Psychodrama, and Accelerated Experiential Dynamic Psychotherapy (AEDP). In my practice, I blend evidence-based methods with creativity and spontaneity, recognizing that healing is both a science and an art.

I believe that change is always possible and that it’s never too late to rewrite your story. It’s my privilege to walk alongside you on this transformative journey. Let's meet and discuss how I can help you.

You deserve to live a life that leaves you excited to wake up every morning! I believe one of the bravest things you can do is begin to understand your own story. Beginning therapy can be scary, and I am here to help you take that first step. As a Licensed Professional Counselor, Art Therapist, and a Brainspotting practitioner, I am specialized in arts-based, trauma informed approaches. I combine the expressive use of drawing, painting, photography and sculpture with psychotherapeutic concepts to aid in healing the mind and body.

I received my bachelor’s degree in Human Development and Family Science from the University of Missouri where I also studied French, Art and Psychology. I continued my education to obtain my master’s degree in Art Therapy and Counseling from The George Washington University where I specialized in arts based, trauma informed approaches. I have worked with young children, adolescents, and young adults in a variety of settings including school-based counseling services, active-duty military behavioral health, residential and outpatient substance abuse treatment.

I am a Licensed Professional Counselor specializing in individual therapy with adults and adolescents. I have experience helping individuals from varied cultural and socio-economic backgrounds struggling with anxiety, depression, self-esteem, trauma, substance abuse, and social skills difficulties. I use a client-centered approach with a variety of modalities, including CBT, motivational interviewing, and psychodynamic therapy, to provide insight into how environmental, mental/emotional, and health-related factors can influence an individual’s thoughts, feelings, and behaviors. I work to provide a safe environment where clients can let go of their stressors and focus on their experiences, struggles, and needs.

It can be difficult to reach out for help. As such, I seek to create a confidential, inviting, and nonjudgmental setting for you to feel comfortable in as we work collaboratively to develop greater insight, understanding, and coping skills; focus on your experiences, struggles, and needs; and let go of your stressors.

I hold a BA in Psychology from Auburn University (2011) and a MS/EdS in Mental Health Counseling from Florida State University (2014).
